Donation Lake George

Donation Lake George Rainbow over the lake

Donation Lake George plays a vital role in preserving the natural beauty of our beloved lake and trails. Additionally, your support helps protect wildlife habitats and maintain public access for future generations.

Through the Lake George Conservancy Support, you’re directly contributing to conservation initiatives and community outreach. Furthermore, becoming a Lake George Conservancy Membership holder strengthens our mission year-round.

You can also give through Lake George Conservancy Planned Giving, ensuring long-term protection through legacy donations. In contrast, a Lake George Conservancy Cash Donation offers immediate impact and flexibility for ongoing projects.

Another impactful way to contribute is through the LGC Sustaining Fund, which provides consistent funding for key programs. Meanwhile, the LGC General Fund allows us to meet urgent needs and seasonal demands.

For those seeking tax-smart strategies, consider a Lake George Conservancy Qualified Charitable Distribution or LGC Gifts of Stock; both options offer generous tax advantages.

Moreover, LGC Volunteering invites you to engage personally in hands-on conservation efforts. In conclusion, every act of giving big or small makes a lasting difference.

Planned Giving

Planned Giving: has many tax benefits for you and your family, and also helps to preserve and protect the Lake George community for generations to come. Options may include, but not be limited to, what is listed below.

The Lake George Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) organization, EIN Number: 20-1253190. Consult with your financial and legal advisor about the benefits and methods of making a planned gift to be sure which option is right for you.

Sunset on Lake George

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from Your 401(k), IRA, or Other Retirement Plan

  • If you make a QCD directly from your IRA to LGC, no tax is due on the transfer of money
  • If you are 72 or older, you can choose to have part or all of your required minimum distribution up to $100,000 transferred directly to Lake George Conservancy tax-free.

Gifts of Stock
Giving appreciated stock could be more beneficial than giving cash.

  • You receive an immediate income-tax deduction for the fair market value of the securities on the date of transfer, no matter what you originally paid for them and you pay no capital gains as you would if you sold the stock and received cash.
  • Because LGC is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, it receives the full value of the appreciated stock.

Estate Planning: Include a Gift in Your Will or Trust

  • Your assets remain in your control and you can modify your gift at any time to address changing circumstances.
  • Your bequest to Lake George Conservancy can be in the form of a dollar amount, a specific property, a percentage of your estate, or what remains after your loved ones have been provided for.

Consult your financial and legal advisor about the benefits and methods of making a planned gift to be sure which option is right for you.

If you would like someone from Lake George Conservancy to contact you about any of these options, please email us at LGConservancy.Treasurer@gmail.com
